2016 HGG Bible Journaling Kit Review and #Giveaway #BibleJournalingKit #FlyBy

2016 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE
BIBLE JOURNALING KIT

Well hey there friends! I cannot believe how fast this month has flown by. We are almost into the month of December and I have almost all my gift shopping done :) How about you all? Are you getting geared up for Christmas and your shopping? Today I want to show you a kit that I know would make an awesome gift for a friend or family member. Check it out!

This is the brand new Bible Journaling Kit, which can be purchased through the stores shown at the bottom of the review, and I really liked how they thought of everything you might need to do a detailed job with your Bible reading. This kit includes a case that attaches to your Bible so you can carry everything, a journaling pen, colored pencils, stickers, and my favorite would be the ruled page protector mat with tracing lines. I mean seriously, I cannot draw a straight line on my own, so this last piece is great!

The pouch it comes with has a Bible verse on it, and is brilliant green so you will never lose it :) The strap is adjustable so you can easily lengthen it for a larger Bible. As you can see, my Bible is smaller so I had no problem getting it on. It does pull your cover open a bit but nothing major.

As a gift, this is a great set to purchase for anyone. Whether it is a teenager, a woman who likes to doodle in her Bible, or for the man who wants to take better notes. For those of you who don't want to wait for the giveaway to end, or if you don't win, the links below are where you can buy your own kit. Also, there is a link where they are having their own giveaway for five winners.

Now for the giveaway, one of my readers will win their very own Bible Journaling Set. This is USA only and will end 12/10. Winner will be chosen through Random.org and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.

Submerged by Elizabeth Goddard with #Review

IN TOO DEEP

With Christmas just around the corner, Cobie MacBride wants closure in the case of her missing father. But when a visit to the last place he was seen leads to an attack by a masked assailant, Cobie knows she's in over her head. Running for her life, she never expected to find safety with Adam Warren—the man she blames for her brother's death. Seeking answers leads them to a treasure ship, buried secrets…and deadly danger. Christmas could find them starting a new future—if they can avoid getting trapped in the perils of the past.

The Mountain Cove Series has been such a delight to read. The newest installation in the series is very good, not my favorite out of them, but still an excellent book.

Cobie MacBride is quite the female protagonist. I loved the spunk she displayed, had a bit of a hard time with how much she caused Adam trouble, though eventually she does let her guard down around him. See, Cobie blames Adam Warren for her brother's death years ago, so when he turns up to rescue her, she wants nothing to do with him. But they are kind of thrown together and must rely on each other if they want to escape the killer who keeps going after Cobie. Could it be related to her father's disappearance? Will Adam be able to save her from the assassin bent on her death?

There is quite a bit of mystery and that is what I really love in Elizabeth Goddard's books. They are fun and interesting, but the whole "trying to find out who done it" is my favorite part. A great installment in the series and I cannot wait to read the next one.

The Remnant End Times Fiction #Review

The Remnant (Plain Truth Ministries, August 2016)

In the year 2069 the Apocalypse came and went, but Jesus didn't show up, as some expected.

Instead, a cataclysmic war, natural disasters and pandemics eradicated 90 percent of earth's population. Now, in 2131, a totalitarian government rules the world from the majestic, opulent capitol of Carthage, Tunisia. Blamed for igniting the war, religion and religious books are banned. Citizens who will not renounce their religion are sent to work camps.

Grant Cochrin, imprisoned in a bleak petroleum camp in what was once North Dakota, leads his family and friends to escape and embark on a long, dangerous quest for a Christian community. Their resource in this journey? A cherished page torn from the now banished Bible---a remnant of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount handed down from Grant's grandparents.

What if there were an Apocalypse and Jesus didn't return? What if the survivors found themselves living in a world ruled by a totalitarian government, where religion is forbidden and all religious texts have been destroyed?

In The Remnant, award-winning author Monte Wolverton tells the tale of a band of concentration camp escapees who trek through the lawless American wilderness on a quest for authentic Christianity, only to come face to face with an unthinkable dilemma. The Remnant is a fast-paced story punctuated with dry satire, memorable characters and hard questions about religious institutions.

MY REVIEW- When it comes to books on the end times, I have a hard time with many of them. Some are just not interesting enough to hold my attention, while others are not sound as far as doctrine. I tend to give more leeway with fiction stories, as they are just that, fiction. So my interest was piqued by yet another End Times novel and I couldn't wait to see how it was.

This actually ended up being interesting, after you get past the first couple chapters. It kind of starts out slow, but does build up speed. And while it does deal with end times, it is also a Dystopian story, making it a little different. I think it showed to a great degree, what our world is like, and what it will very well end up being like. My dad actually picked it up and started reading the story and he said he enjoyed it. I think for me it was okay, but definitely not a favorite. I do believe my father might end up with it :)

2016 HGG Christmas Forest Wreath Review & #Giveaway!

2016 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE

Oh wow! I am so in love with this company I am introducing to you today. Christmas Forest has some of the most amazing wreaths, ever! I was given the opportunity to feature them in my Gift Guide and I had such a hard time picking what I wanted to review. After all, with wreaths like they have on their site, it makes for a difficult decision. I just wanted to choose several :)

"Welcome to Christmas Foresta place where magic happens every day, and the sights and scents of the holidays are alive year-round. From our very first handmade Christmas wreath sold back in 1976 at Pike Place Farmer's Market until now, we have made it our mission to bring the very essence of Christmas into every wreath that we create. Alive with the fresh evergreen scent of the Cascade Mountains, each of our handcrafted wreaths is a one-of-a-kind creation, and a unique representation of who we are. To put it simply, we love Christmas and look forward to it with childlike wide-eyed wonder every year and that's what we want to bring to each of our customers. That's why our products, our outstanding customer service and environmental commitment are all equally important because Christmas is more than just a season it's an ideal, an experience and an expression of the truest feelings. This year, why not do more than just give a gift? Give the gift of the season itself with an exquisite handcrafted Christmas wreath from Christmas Forest."

I personally had several favorites, but since M. is such a fan of anything Christmas, I allowed her to pick the one she wanted to hang up. And she went with the Polka Dot Frenzy Wreath. I was very impressed when it arrived. They ship these out fresh, so I was worried about it coming in all wilted and losing pine needles all over the place. It did lose some needles, to be expected with traveling, but it was in great shape! And the scent?? I could smell it before even opening it, the guy who delivered it said it brightened his truck, and I could seriously bottle the scent to use as a perfume. I love everything pine or evergreen :)

This wreath is so delightful! They have some very quaint styles and I love how they cater to different needs. Some are more elegant while others are whimsical. I think we chose one of the more whimsical options :) They send the bow along and you can attach it anywhere you desire. And yes, M wanted it a little off-centered. In my opinion, it is fanciful and playful. She definitely has an eye for the designs. And, we have already had a compliment about it from a neighbor who saw it.

Well, how bout it you all? Anyone interested in winning their very own Polka Dot Frenzy Wreath? This will end a little early so I can get the winners information in to them in time for Christmas. The giveaway will end 11/28 and the winner will be chosen through Random.org. They will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen. USA ONLY!

2016 HGG Abundant Life Coffee #Review @AbundantLifeCof

2016 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE

How is everyone's day going so far? I am pretty stoked about this company that is starting off my gift guide. As you all know, I am a coffee addict. Not the word I like to use for it, but I guess when I drink 2-3 coffees a day, it is pretty accurate. So I know a good coffee when I taste one. That is why I am happy to bring you, Abundant Life Coffee.

I actually won this in a giveaway, but I was so happy with the company itself, not to mention the flavor of the coffee, that I wanted to include them in my gift guide. After all, for those who love a good cup of joe, coffee is the best of the best as far as presents go. I picked out the Original Coffee Dark Roast, mainly because my flavoring I like to get from my creamer, or when I make a special drink. So I like mine to start out bold and dark and go from there.

As you can see from all my pictures, I made this one into an iced mocha. I love my iced mochas!! I drink one probably every day and on rare occasion, twice a day. This is a very refreshing and strong beverage and if you can make it right, it is amazing.

The flavor of this coffee is nice and bold, super strong taste but great texture! I don't feel like I am feeling the coffee when I drink it, which sad to say has happened before with bold coffee grounds. Don't want to taste the grounds :) My dad actually said this had some of the best flavor of any coffee that he has had. I know that I loved it and at the price they charge, it is a really great buy. For those of you interested in purchasing a bag or two, take a look below for their website and also their social media pages. We all have a coffee lover in our life so get them something they will enjoy for a while!

**DISCLOSURE: I won this in a giveaway and was not required to write up anything about them. This is all my thoughts about the company. Please read my full disclosure policy HERE.**

The Beginner's Bible Story Book Review & 5 Winner #Giveaway! @FamilyChristian

Hey all! I apologize for having been absent a bit, especially with my gift guide coming up and all, but things have been somewhat hectic around here. Thankfully I am getting back into the swing of things and life is somewhat normal again. Today I have a wonderful opportunity for you all. This is going to be great for grandparents, parents, siblings, etc. And guess what, there will be five winners!!

It is very hard to find a good quality Bible for youngsters now a days, but not near as difficult as it used to be. And with new things like this coming out? You can't go wrong with giving one of these as a gift. The Beginner's Bible Story Book is just that.

It takes Bible stories and tells them in a very easy to understand fashion. I love this one as it is sturdy, a nice size for little hands, and they just love the pictures! This is not a Bible, but rather a story book.

Definitely does not contain all the Bible stories by any means, but a smattering of the most well-known ones. Great to get your little ones interested in reading their own Bible when they can :)

The Beginner's Bible is a full size Bible. It does have pictures but this is for a little bit older aged child. One who can read on their own and is responsible enough to not destroy the pages while turning them. I would say about 8 or 9, and then going up. The pages are not as thick as the storybook by any means.

So, anyone interested in winning a set of these? You will receive one of each, the story book and the Bible. The top picture is exactly what you will be winning. Remember, with Christmas coming up, this would be a perfect gift. USA only as I will be shipping these out. Giveaway ends 11/21. Winners will be chosen through Random.org and they will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen. Thanks for entering!!

Deeply Moving Story from Julie Klassen

Sophie Dupont, daughter of a portrait painter, assists her father in his studio, keeping her own artwork out of sight. She often walks the cliffside path along the north Devon coast, popular with artists and poets. It's where she met the handsome Wesley Overtree, the first man to tell her she's beautiful. Captain Stephen Overtree is accustomed to taking on his brother's neglected duties. Home on leave, he's sent to find Wesley. Knowing his brother rented a cottage from a fellow painter, he travels to Devonshire and meets Miss Dupont, the painter's daughter. He's startled to recognize her from a miniature portrait he carries with him--one of Wesley's discarded works. But his happiness plummets when he realizes Wesley has left her with child and sailed away to Italy in search of a new muse.
Wanting to do something worthwhile with his life, Stephen proposes to Sophie. He does not offer love, or even a future together, but he can save her from scandal. If he dies in battle, as he believes he will, she'll be a respectable widow with the protection of his family.

Desperate for a way to escape her predicament, Sophie agrees to marry a stranger and travel to his family's estate. But at Overtree Hall, her problems are just beginning. Will she regret marrying Captain Overtree when a repentant Wesley returns? Or will she find herself torn between the father of her child and her growing affection for the husband she barely knows?

MY REVIEW-Julie Klassen is a truly talented author, as evidenced again by her latest novel, The Painter's Daughter. I always enjoy these stories and while they are delightful, they are normally deep and thoughtful.

Captain Stephen Overtree steps in and saves the day, marrying Sophia Dupont, after his brother leaves her pregnant and alone. I really liked Stephen. He is kind and gentle, though not always coming across that way. He is firm and used to being obeyed, if only he can learn to treat Sophie different than the men he commands. They make for a great couple with the normal tensions of a marriage with no love at the start.

Mrs Klassen is particular to historical detail and it is part of what makes me love her books. Rich in all kinds of detail, from the weather to the clothing being worn, and don't forget the actual history of an area. Excellent Regency era book and I cannot wait for her next story!!
