Something Special For Mother's Day #MothersDay #Fcblogger

*Disclosure* I received a gift certificate to do some shopping at Family Christian in exchange for this post. All thoughts are 100% mine.

I don't know about you, but as a daughter still living in her parent's house, Mother's Day can be quite fun. Forget about having to purchase flowers and send them to her house, or mailing a package, she is right here for me to make feel special. You have to admit it, as much as children complain, whine, or feel smothered, mother's make their world a better place. Cooking for you, being there to hear your troubles and struggles through school, etc. So on Mother's Day, it is all about making them feel special and letting them know how much they mean to us. Here are a few ideas that I have used through the years to get the creative juices flowing:)

1.Coupon Books
When I was younger I always made these booklets. They are great for little guys and gals to make. Give them some construction paper and crayons or pencils and watch them go to work. Paints work well too but just be careful of the area around them:)

The coupons can range from a free hug or kiss, a free breakfast in bed, a day off from doing dishes, or maybe even a chore of the mother's choice. To make things even easier there are printable sheets now for the children to use but I always enjoyed making my own. And then dad will need to step in to staple the booklet together.

2.Breakfast in Bed
This to me is one of my favorites. I love taking this idea and running with it. There are so many ways you can make mom feel special and when she doesn't have to get up in the morning to make her own breakfast, it is extra special. Here are some ideas I have used in the past.

Make her favorite breakfast which could include any of the following, An egg omelet, steak and eggs, breakfast sandwich, poached eggs, oatmeal or grits, sausage or bacon, tea, coffee, milk or juice and all put together nicely on a lovely tray such as the heart tray shown above. Younger children may need some help on this one but allow them to help with what they can. On my tray I also like to add a vase of flowers as well as notes from the children. Just a little note to say thanks for being mom type thing. Or maybe a colored picture from the younger guys. Oh, and this is where a new book might come in handy as well:)

Now, you can also do this as a dinner. Obviously not in bed, but a nice dinner out on the patio, with candles and some sentimental music. Again, allow the children to put in their own special touches but they may need some help from dad. It all depends on how old your children are. For me, I love doing this type of thing, even when it isn't Mother's Day:)

Some families like to give small gifts and I learned there are those who don't. Personally I like to give a small gift, or two, and I found some lovely ones. All the actual products shown in the post can be found at Family Christian starting at $5. They have some awesome items you can use for Mother's Day as it is quickly approaching. Before you know it May 10th will be here and the kids have to be ready:) So either stop in at your local Family Christian store or shop online but go now while they are having their Mother's Day sale!

Garcinia Cambogia Helped me Slim Down #bloggers4amazon

*Disclosure* I received a bottle of the Garcinia Camboga at a discounted price in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. All thoughts are 100% mine. While I found favorable results from using this, these results are not promised and not everyone will see the same thing. I am not a doctor.*

Hey everyone, you know I was telling you about the Omega Soul products that help you slim down, lose weight and burn fat? Well, today I have a review for their Garcinia Cambogia Extract. I received a bottle of these capsule pills for review and I have to say, they are my favorite ones so far:)

The Garcinia Cambogia(big words I know) is an herbal extract and is used mainly for blocking the carbohydrates you eat, weight loss aid, helps with full time energy and extra strength as well as an appetite suppressant. Believe me, my mother is diabetic so I know first hand what can happen when you have too many carbohydrates in your body plus who wouldn't love some help in suppressing their appetite?

The pills are a bit big, but as with most capsules, I just pop them open and add them in to my different foods. This one was super great in my yogurt.

All you have to do is pop it open and pour the powder into whatever you are having. I put mine in yogurt for my breakfast but the opportunities are endless. You could do it over eggs, in smoothies, oatmeal, soup, etc. Once I mixed it you couldn't even see the powder:)

Their directions do say to take one veggie capsule twice a day for health benefits. For weight loss they say to take 2 capsules twice a day. I personally only did the first option. Yes I want to lose weight but I am more worried about the good health part.

I found that the powder mixed in well and while I could taste it, it wasn't too bad. I also LOVED that I lost 3 lbs in the 2 weeks of taking it. Not too much, not too little and just about right. I was not overly worried about losing weight using pills so I liked it. The Garcinia Cambogia is definitely something I would purchase again and look forward to seeing how I weigh in on Friday.

Forskolin Extract for Appetite Suppressant #bloggers4amazon

Have any of you ever used forskolin extract? I had heard of it but never actually realized what it was for. There are a lot of different pills out there for weight loss and fat burner help, but I decided to take the time to do a bit of studying on some of these. And first up is the Omega Soul Forskolin Herbal Supplement.

I do want to say that I received a bottle of these pills for my review. I am always very skeptical over diet pills and how well they actually work. Many times you lose the weight while taking the pill but once you are done, then the extra pounds just pile on. I also don't like the chemicals and ingredients that you have no clue what they are or what they do. So I took a look at this one before I decided to try it.

When I saw the standard found on the Omega Soul website, I was very impressed. They are so right in what they say and I for one found it comforting that they take such pride in their business. This specific product here is the Omega Soul Forskolin Extract. It is an herbal suppressant and a fat burner. One of my favorite things is that the ingredients are all things I can pronounce!! Do you know how many times you look at a product and you can't even sound out the ingredients in them? This one is not like that at all. The pills are also veggie capsules, for those of you wanting to know.

So, anyone interested in trying these out for yourself? Be sure to use the coupon code below to get 50% off the price. Right now it is 11.98 and free shipping when you spend over $35 so you will be paying around $6 for a bottle of 90 pills.

Ever Bride Needs a Groom With #Review!

EVERY BRIDE NEEDS A GROOM BY JANICE THOMPSON

Small-town girl Katie Fisher is planning her wedding. Sure, her boyfriend hasn't managed to pop the question just yet, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't enter a contest in "Texas Bride" magazine to win the dress of her dreams, right? But when her boyfriend breaks up with her and takes a job in another town -- the very same day Katie wins her dream dress -- her world is turned upside down. Should she claim her prize? And will the hunky former pro-basketball player who runs the swanky Dallas bridal shop -- yeah, you read that right -- catch on to her humiliation if she does?

MY THOUGHTS-Janice Thompson is the definite go-to-gal when you want a lighthearted book that will make you laugh. Personally I have read every book she has written and I love them all. This is the first one that I felt started a little slow but once I got about 50 pages in, it really picked up. I knew to keep going as she always pulls through for the reader.

The book opens in the normal Janice prose. A young woman who is ruminating on her life in small town Texas and how good it is to live there with no thought of ever leaving. Why would they when life is grand where you are? She has loving family members, a boyfriend who is close to finally proposing and she just entered to win a dream wedding dress from Cosmopolitan Bridal. That is until her boyfriend breaks up with her and there is no wedding in the future.

Katie is quite a handful as a character but I loved her. She is smart, funny to be around and I loved her sense of humor. Okay, do I sound like I know her in real life? Janice writes these people like they are real and I so enjoy an author who does that. The hero of the story was a bit different to me. Brady is a former basketball player whose mother is taking a trip and needs him to watch the store while she is gone. Just a little odd to have this hunky guy working in a bridal store but it does make for some really funny parts!

If you are in the mood for some humor, this is the book to pick up. I did like this one less than her others but still a 4 out of 5 stars. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book where we get to see what goes down in the Katie and Brady tale!

‘A Sparrow in Terezin’ by Kristy Cambron | New Book Plus a Book-Inspired Giveaway

A Sparrow in Terezin

Bound together across time, two women will discover a powerful connection through one survivor’s story of hope in the darkest days of a war-torn world.
Present Day—With the grand opening of her new art gallery and a fairytale wedding just around the corner, Sera James feels she’s stumbled into a charmed life—until a brutal legal battle against fiancé William Hanover threatens to destroy the perfectly planned future she’s planned before it even begins. Now, after an eleventh-hour wedding ceremony and a callous arrest, William faces a decade in prison for a crime he never committed, and Sera must battle the scathing accusations that threaten her family and any hope for a future.
1942—Kája Makovsky narrowly escaped occupied Prague in 1939, and was forced to leave her half-Jewish family behind. Now a reporter for the Daily Telegraph in England, Kája discovers the terror has followed her across the Channel in the shadowy form of the London Blitz. When she learns Jews are being exterminated by the thousands on the continent, Kája has no choice but to return to her mother city, risking her life to smuggle her family to freedom and peace.
Connecting across a century through one little girl, a Holocaust survivor with a foot in each world, these two women will discover a kinship that springs even in the darkest of times. In this tale of hope and survival, Sera and Kája must cling to the faith that sustains and fight to protect all they hold dear—even if it means placing their own futures on the line.

MY REVIEW-This author here is one that has quickly gone to my keeper shelf. She writes books with feeling and not just stories that make you all glad and happy. They are emotionally charged novels and I am the proud owner of both her books.

If you have not read the first story in the Hidden Masterpieces series, The Butterfly and the Violin, you will want to be sure and read it first. Otherwise you will probably be lost when you open this one. This novel opens with Sera and William ready to be married. This is set in present day times, they are both interested in art, and are getting married out on the beach. But they are rudely interrupted but something they knew might be coming. I seriously don't want to give anything away so you will just have to purchase the book:)

Normally I am not big on the stories that deal with two characters in two totally different time periods. Kristy's books are definitely not a problem for me though. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one which was written in that style and this one was just as good. Kaja and Liam... just wow! I would be hard pressed to say which time period I felt more comfortable with. At one point Kaja is talking to Liam about timing and how we are not in control of when things happen and she says the following,

"We all have things that remain hidden. Things we're not able to reveal. My father used to say that all of time is set to a clock-God's clock. We're given so much of it from sunrise to sunset each day. And it's in God's will that time continues to move on. He watches over all of us, wherever we should go."

I found myself in tears at times, but also strangely moved by the faith these women had. With all the years apart and the different struggles they each had, their faith was solely based in the One who never changes. A totally amazing story that you don't want to miss!!!

The Health Benefits of Taking Probiotics

*Disclosure* I received product at a reduced price in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. All thoughts are 100% mine. I am not a doctor and the benefits I received from using this product may not be the same for everyone. I can only speak on my behalf.

For someone who is trying to achieve a healthier way of life, probiotics is something I take daily. I hadn't really thought much about it at first, I mean I ate greek yogurt so I would get my daily probiotics and live cultures that we all hear so much about. But was I getting enough? Was it really doing anything for my body anyways? So I decided to delve into the benefits and see what I came up with. Here is a little bit of what I found and also my favorite Probiotic supplement for women.

1.What are Probiotics?
This is the first thing I wanted to find out. It is also the biggest question I have heard from critics, you all know the ones I am talking about. The ones who look at you like you are crazy for taking a pill and ask you what in the world is it doing for you? Anyways, the really basic, simple, easy-to-understand answer is this. Probiotics are live culture bacteria and yeast. Yep, you heard me right:) But it is the good kind of bacteria that helps your body, or rather your stomach, on track and healthy.

2.Do They Really Help?
Yes, definitely, absolutely!! At first when you start taking them you may not notice a big change. I think part of mine might have been because I already had probiotics almost daily. But I noticed a big change after taking these pills after about 5 days. Probiotics help fight off infection and also boost your immune system. Believe me, I have seen it happen and felt it. Times where I could feel a cold coming on and I would eat yogurt? The cold either didn't ever come, or I had less symptoms than the rest of the family.

3.Why Advanced Probiotics is My Favorite?
Personally I have problems taking pills. Small ones I don't really have a lot of difficulty over but with larger pills I tend to have gag reflex with:) One of the main reasons I like the Advanced Probiotics brand is that I can pop open the capsule and pour the powder inside into my food! I can put it in a smoothie, mix it in my yogurt or oatmeal, etc. I still get the full benefits of the probiotics while not having to swallow the pill. A big plus in my opinion. The other thing I like is that they are 100% vegetarian and is a natural formula. I had no side effects while using this and I enjoy knowing that I am getting a good amount of probiotics. You can't go wrong with that!

Totally in Love with this iPhone 6 Battery Case! #bloggers4amazon

*Disclosure* I received this item at a discounted price in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. All thoughts are 100% mine.

My brother is a very proud owner of an iPhone 6 and he has recently been looking for a battery case for it. When I saw this one I was excited to get it for him and see how it worked.

I wasn't sure exactly how it would work for charging the iPhone but I am happy to say it is amazing! This has allowed him to use his iphone for several days without plugging it in and he enjoys being able to charge it once on Sunday and then not recharge for 2-3 days. And for someone who works at a bank he uses his iphone a lot. So believe me when I say this gets plenty of use and still stays charged for quite a good amount of time.

This is like an iPhone 6 power pack that gives you several more hours of battery time. And believe me, he carries his iPhone everywhere so the battery case is on his phone non-stop, 24/7. I know some people brought up that it is hard to remove the phone from the case but personally it was not tough at all. Just slide it right out the end. My worst moment was when I first put it on. Couldn't figure out how to get the end piece off so you can get the iphone inside. Turns out you just flip the little clips on the side:)

It is heavy duty and doesn't add much to the size of the iphone, which was a big worry for him. The only thing he brought up is that it will heat up on you. One evening he pulled it out and had me feel the back of it. It was warm to the touch so I would be careful about that. Otherwise, this has brought him many happy hours!

When Calls the Heart Premier Event!! With #Giveaway #Hearties #FaithTV

Hello fellow Hearties!! I am beyond pumped to tell you all about this event. Many of you know how important April 25th is as that is the date to bring back When Calls the Heart!! The premier event will be two episodes and I cannot wait for it to be here. First though I want to let you all in on a little secret. I was able to pre-screen the premier episodes and I also have a super giveaway here for you all. Please be sure to get all the info down though so you can watch the 2 hour When Calls the Heart season 2 premier.

About the series:
The series is inspired by Janette Oke’s bestselling book series about the Canadian West. “When Calls the Heart” tells the captivating story of Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher accustomed to her high society life, who receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coalmining town where life is simple, but often fraught with challenges. Lori Loughlin plays Abigail Stanton, a wife and mother whose husband, the foreman of the mine, along with a dozen other miners, has just been killed in an explosion. The newly widowed women find their faith is tested when they must go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads. Elizabeth charms most everyone in Coal Valley, except Constable Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) who believes Thatcher’s wealthy father has doomed the lawman’s career by insisting he be assigned in town to protect the shipping magnate’s daughter. Living in a turn of the century coal town, Elizabeth will have to learn the ways of the frontier if she wishes to thrive in the rural west on her own.

I have been a fan of this show from the very beginning. I love when a program can be watched by the whole family without any fears over what the kids might see. It is a wholesome family friendly show and reminded me somewhat of the old tv series, Little House on the Prairie. The town is small and the people are dear to your heart. The story is based off of the When Calls The Heart book series by Janette Oke but they follow their own plots. Obviously there were only so many books so you can't have them be exact. I like that this was only based off the books. The characters are excellent and you feel like you know them. Believe me, by the time you are two episodes into the first season, you will be in love:)

When the first season ended there were some loose ends and questions that needed answered. Let me tell you though, they don't all get wrapped up in the premier episodes. There are many things left hanging which leads into an excellent second season. I don't want to give anything away but I should tell you there is some romantic tension, deception, healing and forgiveness as well as lots of new beginnings. You just have to watch it to find out what happens!!

THE GIVEAWAY!!
I know many of you will be wanting this here as the prize is the complete first season of When Calls The Heart! A $60 value that makes this one a humdinger. You HAVE to own the whole thing! The giveaway will end 5/8 and winner will be chosen through Random.org. They will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be picked. USA and CANADA ONLY!

No-Ad Skin Care Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer w/Sunscreen #Review & #Giveaway!

NO-AD Prevent & Repair and NO-AD Prevent & Brighten

which are packed with a premium blend of vitamins, antioxidantsand SPF 15 broad spectrum protection, are multifunctional products unlike any moisturizers sold in mass market outlets. Designed to promote more beautiful skin all over the body ‹ not just on the face ‹ each product is chock-a-block with powerful ingredients that repair, brighten, and prevent aging caused by cumulative daily sun damage.

Incidental Sun Exposure
A new survey conducted by GfK Custom Research North America and commissioned by NO-AD Skin Care found that a majority of Americans mistakenly believe they receive most of their total lifetime sun exposure from extended outdoor activities like going to the beach. "Actually those activities account for a mere 20 percent of lifetime sun exposure," said Brevard, Fla.-based dermatologist Dr. Richard C. Kirkpatrick. "In fact, 80 percent comes from daily incidental sun exposure, such as in driving to the store, walking the dog, or just sitting indoors next to a sunny window."

Kirkpatrick stressed that incidental sun exposure accumulates incrementally and prematurely ages the skin.

SSCR CEO Stuart J. Straus observed that when most consumers think about "anti-aging protection," they think of a product just for the face. "Beauty is more than face deep," he said. "No matter how much attention you give your face, it's the constant UV skin damage to your neck, chest, arms, and legs that can give away your age. It¹s why you need to apply body lotion daily to any exposed skin. This need for total body skin care ‹ an all-day, everyday, all-the-time, anti-aging lotion that delivers SPF 15 protection ‹ is precisely why NO-AD jumped into the highly competitive skin care category."

NO-AD Breaks Into Skin Care Category
Straus noted that, at 46 cents per ounce each, NO-AD Skin Care lotions cost half what competing SPF body lotions do ‹ and yet those other lotions don¹t contain NO-AD¹s high-quality anti-aging ingredients. They will be available starting March 2015 at select Wal-Mart stores, walmart.comdrugstore.com, and HEB, as well as food, drug, and mass market retailers.

"This is a category breakout for NO-AD," Straus said. "NO-AD's new skin care line is the first of its kind ‹ anti-aging body moisturizers with SPF 15 created expressly for the mass market. Leveraging its 50-year sun care heritage, NO-AD Skin Care is delivering more for less, in ingredients and innovation ‹ and is proudly made in the USA."

NO-AD Skin Care's non-greasy, fast-absorbing formulas are dermatologist-tested and carry the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of approval. NO-AD products are also PABA-free and are not tested on animals.

Survey Says Americans Unaware of Incidental Sun Exposure
The NO-AD Skin Care survey points to the need for greater consumer education about the dangerous aging effect on the body of daily incidental sun exposure. Key findings:
·       Very few Americans (just 5%) apply any type of sun protection to their body daily.
·       Many Americans underestimate the damage to their skin from brief daily sun exposures ‹ in fact, fewer than half (48%) agree that short exposures to the sun cause a lot of skin damage.
·       Most Americans (72%) say they only worry about sun exposure if they are going to be in the sun for a long time, such as at the beach, pool, park, etc.
·       A majority (51%) worry more about daily sun exposure on "my face than about other exposed skin, like my hands and arms."

MY THOUGHTS-I am one of those people who doesn't often wear sunscreen. I know, I know, I should work better at taking care of my skin now than trying to do repair later. I just hate having to put on a lot of stinky smelly lotions every time I go outside. But with summer quickly approaching I know I have to get used to it. For once I found a product that doesn't smell bad, is easy to apply, and I can purchase it cheaper than normal prices!

The two items I received for review are the Prevent and Repair Anti-Aging Moisturizer with Sunscreen(a lotion) and the Prevent and Brighten Anti-Aging Body Moisturizer with Sunscreen(this one is a spray). Now I reviewed the one but I kept the other one sealed so I can use it for giveaway!! So one of you will win the Prevent and Brighten bottle:)

The lotion at first was very hard to get open. I was to the point of frustration with it when finally it popped open. It is the type that you have to keep twisting until it clicks. Well you know how it goes, it wouldn't click and I was getting frustrated but finally it opened. The lotion is light and non greasy feeling which was a big plus in my book. I don't like when you feel like you are wearing a pound of lotion on your skin.

The scent is floral and airy but can get strong if you are using a lot. We used it on a day out and after applying it on everybody, the house smelled pretty strong. I think the benefits outweigh the setbacks though and I am glad to find a product I can feel comfortable with putting on my skin. And at the price, you can't beat it!

Who is ready for a giveaway? One of you will win the bottle shown above. This is the Prevent and Brighten with sunscreen. I am sure you will love it! USA ONLY as I am shipping this out personally. Giveaway will end 4/28 and winner will be chosen through Random.org. They will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.

Ladies Swim Cap for Long Hair!! #bloggers4amazon

Can I ask by a raise of hands, how many of my readers use a swim cap? Or if you don't use one in the pool, how about the shower? I personally haven't gone swimming in quite some time. And the foremost reason would be my hair. Do you know how hard it is to untangle long hair that is wet? It can take a good 15 minutes just to get a comb through it! That is where this product here comes in. A shower or swim cap can take the dread of a swim and turn it into fun!

This swim cap here is for long or curly hair so the first thing I noticed was the size of it. The cap is huge! Almost too big in some ways but I definitely like it. That coin in the middle is a quarter so as you can see, this is big enough for dreadlocks, very long hair, etc.

So does my sister who offered to do the modeling:) A round of applause for her. As you can see her hair is long and curly. A big problem when it comes to swimming.

But, after putting her hair up in the cap it sealed around the edges as it should and the only difficulties she had was taking it off. The material did pull at her hair some but better than yanking half of it out when you comb out wet hair.

The silicone material makes it very stretchy but it also forms a seal when you put it on. Your ears can go inside or outside but I found it worked better inside. My sister preferred them outside. So totally up to you on how you use it. This also works great in the shower as I found out when I used it. The only thing I didn't care for was the smell as it is pretty strong. But you can either set it outside to air out, or use it once and the scent is pretty much gone. Definitely going with me on my upcoming trip and I just might take a swim in the pool!
