Gardens, Fountains and Critters:)

I am sure you have heard enough about the weather warming up around here. But this is such a great time of year. We are getting ready to plant our flowers and start the garden. The rose bushes are sitting here ready to be planted along with the other flowers. Roses are my favorites and I like to get the different colored ones. I love going shopping and putting in seeds, marking rows, and working outside. Also been cleaning up from the winter snow that covered everything and left a muddy mess. We have put in stone to help with the drainage a bit but it still leaves mud in certain areas. Have any of you ever used a submersible fountain pump? I was browsing online trying to find a fountain for the garden area and stumbled upon these. I had never heard of them, actually I had heard of them but never seen one. I found out that this is what works for a fish pond or if you want a fountain that spouts water into the air. Needless to say, I don't know if we will be putting one of these in, but it is definitely something to think about. Do any of you have fish ponds? I have seen people who have these in their front yard but it just seems like something we wouldn't really be interested in doing. It would give some enjoyment to the kids though, that's for sure:)

Not only has our garden been started, but we are getting out the bird feeders again. I don't know about you all, but I love watching the birds. We have an area up front near our patio that we use for our bird area. This includes a bird bath along with several feeders. In our section of the state, we get a lot of different birds and the variety is great for pictures and bird-watching. We even get hummingbirds! I love these little flying wonders and always enjoy having them visit the front yard. Only problem is, they are hard to capture on film. We have also had some pesky little squirrels climb up the feeders to hang upside down and get the food. They are funny though!!
