How To Keep Your Pipes From Freezing + Rotorooter

Howdy everyone!! I am writing in from warm sunny Florida:) At least, it is supposed to be warm. Turns out the weather is a little bit chilly down here as well. But anything is better than the weather up north. As it turns out though, we are headed north and will be running right into a winter storm. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything. But today I am going to give some tips on how to keep your pipes from freezing and in good working order. That way you don't have to call in the big guns from Rotorooter!! But if something does happen, Rotorooter is definitely the place to call for help. They have excellent service and they are known around the world for getting the job done. Anyways, I am not here today to talk about their company, but I wanted to put in a good word for a nice company. As I said earlier, today I am giving tips and hints on how to keep your pipes from freezing. We are talking about a major inconvenience at best here folks. A frozen pipe can lead to burst pipes and then you not only don't have water but you have a mess to clean up as well.

1.Insulation.
Insulating your pipes is my favorite tip on how to keep them from freezing. Most people automatically use insulation year round. But this is not something to play around with. Make sure your pipes have some sort of insulation on them. It is a great way to keep them warm and safe from the cold outside. I know most pipes are under the house or in the basement and it really helps to do this.

2.Leaving the Water Running.
This is something that you have to make your own choice on. At times the weather isn't bad enough for this, but there are definitely times this has saved us from having to deal with the cold. If you will just leave some water trickling in your sinks, you will have water moving through enough to keep it from freezing. Again, you don't want a lot of water as your water will could be outrageous, but this is a big help during the winter months.

So there you have them. My favorite tips for fighting the cold during this chilly season. Let me know if you have any tips for my readers!!
