Hot Air Balloons and Romance? Check out Flight of Fancy!

You sure have to enjoy a heroine like Cassandra. I know you are asking what she is like. Well, read my review below and you will find out:)

Her head is in the clouds. His feet are planted firmly on the ground. Can love cover the distance?
Cassandra Bainbridge may be a bit of a bluestocking, but when Geoffrey Giles is near, love seems a fine alternative to passion for Greek and the physics of flight. With his dashing good looks and undying devotion to her, the earl of Whittaker sets Cassandra's heart racing with his very presence. It seems his only flaw is his distaste for ballooning, the obsession that consumes so much of her thoughts.

When a terrible accident compels her to end her betrothal, Cassandra heads for the country to recover from both her injuries and her broken heart. With time on her hands and good friends to help her, she pursues her love for ballooning and envisions a future for herself as a daring aeronaut. But when Lord Whittaker slips back into her life, will she have to choose between him and her dream?

MY REVIEW-Seriously, I have never read about a heroine like Cassandra. You read about a heroine who likes to fly planes, rides horses, shoot guns or even be a sheriff. But hot air balloons? Definitely a different kind of woman:) But then again, Laurie Eakes knows how to write a heroine that intrigues you. And don't forget the hero! Not by any means should you forget Geoffrey! He is somewhat of a boring person at first. A man who is interested in Cassandra but doesn't want her interested in her balloons.

Cassandra at times really irritated me as a heroine. There were certain parts I wanted to slap her. But at times I really understood where she was coming from. There are a couple parts that were close to being overboard for me as far as sensuality but I think Laurie did a good job being discreet. Cassandra and Geoffrey almost take things too far and you find out there is history with Geoffrey not being upright. But God's forgiveness and grace is well portrayed as well.

Overall a good novel. This is the second in the series and it could be read as a stand alone novel but would be better read in order. Can't wait to read Honore's story next!
