Can she trust him? Or is she putting herself and her family in danger?

Discover a world of elegance and intrigue, balls and masquerades as Laurie Alice Eakes whisks you into the drawing rooms of London Society on this exciting quest to let the past stay in the past--and let love guide the future.

MY REVIEW-I first read Laurie Alice Eakes when I reviewed The Lady in the Mist. This was a wonderful book and I am really looking forward to the next one in that series. I didn't realize this is a totally different series!! It is very good and I only had one thing I didn't care for. It was somewhat minor but not something I expected. My favorite character was Lydia. She soo wants to be in charge and feels like she runs everything. If it wasn't for her, things would just fall apart. I know how that feels sometimes;) I liked Christien but I felt he was somewhat deceptive. Again, the book titles tells a lot about this book!! There was so much mystery and suspense in this book, I was racing through it and trying to figure out who was the blackmailer!! The one part I didn't care for was a part where it mentions her sister and the fiance are in the library room. They are both kissing and it mentions her buttons are somewhat undone. I know Laurie is trying to show how we need to be pure in our dating and courtship but this was a little bit much for me. Not used to this in my books:) The whole book was a great read! Wonderful plot and characters that make you feel like you know them. I am not a fan of regency books, but if there is a sequel, I will be on the lookout for it! Excellent novel by Laurie!

I like books set in this era. I love reading about the gowns they wore and all the lavish parties.
