MY REVIEW-I had never read any books by this author, so it was a first time for me. I am also coming into a series so I was kind of clueless on some things that were brought up. They mention an old friend who is slowly drifting away but I don't know how much of a friend he was. In this book, I didn't think he was that much of a friend. But like I said, I haven't read the previous books. Now, I really enjoyed the plot of this book and the mystery. I am a fan of mystery books and this one had a good amount. It was kind of different and written in a different style. There was one thing I did not appreciate in this book though and I feel like I have to mention it to give my honest review. There were several curse words in this book. Please authors, I do not want to read the world's language in a Christian book!! I realize some scenarios an author will feel like they have to put it in there because of the type of book or they want to get the real feel. But I don't think it is right.
Overall, I enjoyed the book but I am getting tired of having to skip curse words to finish a Christian book.

Thanks for your thoughtful review. I can understand your strong sentiment toward curse words, and agree with you that cursing has become gratuitous in books. And most often totally unnecessary.
There is one curse word, the h-word. It's said in dialogue, spoken by a character who stayed in character uttering it. Otherwise if a character cursed, I paraphrased it. Raleigh doesn't curse. Ever.
I'm sorry that word bothered you so much, but again I understand. Thank you for being gracious.
And thanks for reading the whole book, even after that word struck a nerve. That was kind of you.
