Interview with Jennifer Hudson Taylor and Book Giveaway

Good morning everyone!! It is a beautiful day here and it is going to get even better:) Today we have with us a new author. Now I am kind of prejudiced but that is okay. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Scotland and Ireland. Anything Highlands:) So, when an author comes along who writes about... guess where... the Highlands!! I am going to love it!!!
Anyways, I have an interview with her below and she has offered to give one of my blog readers a copy of her book, Highland Blessings. So please, read through the interview and then make sure you find out how to enter the giveaway.

Where did you get the idea for this book?

Highland Blessings was born from my imagination, but I believe watching Braveheart helped me mold it into the highland story it became.

How long did it take you to write it?

I began writing it around 1998. I converted it to Christian fiction in 2006. During that time I wrote several other novels, but I would go back and revise Highland Blessings here and there.

Do you have a designated writing time or do you just write when the mood hits?

I write whenever I can squeeze in the time. I prefer to write when the mood hits, but I’m always working my full-time job or too tired after work, so I end up forcing myself to push through it. I’m praying for the day I can stay home and write and work in blocks of scheduled time rather than here, there and everywhere.

What is your favorite hobby?

Genealogy research. I love trying to figure out who my ancestors were and how our family came to be, how they played a part of history. I even get story ideas from my genealogy research.

Do you have an author you look up to? And if so, who?

I don’t know Francine Rivers, but her novel, Redeeming Love, is awesome. I really believe the Holy Spirit was guiding her when she wrote that novel.

What place would you love to go to for vacation?

That’s easy---Scotland!!!! I’d love to go there. I dream about it. I pray about it. I think about it.

That would be my answer too!! I love Scotland!

What 2 people would you love to meet? Historical or living:)

I’d like to meet Mary the mother of Jesus and Deborah, the prophetess of Israel. As a mother, I can identify with the pain Mary must have endured, the questions she must have had, and the confusion. I’ve been compared to Deborah the prophetess and I’d like to know if I’m anything like her.

What event do you wish you had seen?

I would have liked to attend an historical ball as it would have been in the 1800’s, maybe during a London season.

Thank you so much for being here Jennifer!
Readers, you can connect with her on her website, or through Facebook!

Now, for those of you who want to win a copy of her book, Highland Blessings, please read on.

Well, my favorite place to go on vacation is California because it's home (though I live in Texas now) ...the place I'd like to visit most that I never have is South Korea. Had a roommate in college from there. Looks beautiful!

By the way, I would love to blog about this in my low comment giveaway section (since it has under 50 comments) but I organize by end date and I don't know when it ends. Leave a comment saying when it ended there and I'll add it!
